Neighborhood Foundations, Newport Kentucky’s affordable housing provider, is redeveloping the Hamlet Street area, near the city’s East Row Historic District. The agency, working with PCA Architecture, rehabilitated several older homes to historic renovation standards, and added five new row houses.

Titan was retained to build two new single-family homes on the block, from plans by PCA, to blend with the historic environment. The homes would be subsidized by Community Development Block Grants and sold to qualifying families by Neighborhood Foundations to build property values and facilitate home ownership in Newport.

The historically complementary designs by PCA, finishes and features were worthy of custom homes. The homes are Energy Star v3 Certified for exceptional energy efficiency and water conservation. Titan’s attention to detail and craftsmanship yielded outstanding results, on time and on budget. Both homes were sold almost immediately upon completion, adding value to the neighborhood and helping two families build equity for the future in pleasant, well-built, highly efficient new homes.
